There are 12 recognized subspecies of the Vermilion Flycatcher (Pyrocephalus rubinus).
The one occurring in south west Peru is Pyrocephalus rubinus cocachacrae.

The yellow-crowned whitestart or Santa Marta whitestart is endemic to the highland forest and woodland in the Santa Marta Mountains in northern Colombia.

It is sometimes known by the less accurate name Yellow-crowned Redstart.

The male is famous for its courtship display: short vertical flights (about 1 meter up), giving its local name "Johnny jump-up".
It is very funny to see this bird doing these stunning straight up jumps.

Zonotrichia capensis carabayae is found in the eastern slopes of the Andes from central Peru to Bolivia.
